J-Long is expanding its product line into sustainable packaging. Alongside the trims, reflective solutions and heat transfers brands already know us for, we now offer woven labels, hangtags, polybags, hangers and bags made with recycled, renewable and plant-based materials.
J-Long began as a distributor of 3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective Material and grew into the largest distributor of it worldwide. Over 40 years, we added heat transfers, woven labels and embellishments, working with some of the world's most demanding outdoor, workwear and fashion brands.
Each step followed the same logic. Brands asked us to solve another small but critical detail, and we built the capability to do it well.
Packaging is the next detail our customers asked us to solve. Three pressures are driving it.
Sustainability targets now reach every component. A garment cannot be truly circular if its trims and packaging are not. Brands need recycled and recyclable options for the label, the tag, the hanger and the bag, not just the fabric.
Regulation is tightening. Single-use plastic rules and packaging requirements are raising the bar for documentation and material choices.
Sourcing teams want fewer suppliers. Buying trims and packaging from one partner means fewer contracts, consistent branding and simpler logistics.
Woven labels
Made from polyester, recycled polyester (rPET), organic cotton, satin and bamboo. rPET uses 79% less carbon than virgin polyester and gives plastic bottles a second life.
Hangtags and joker tags
Printed on FSC paper, recycled kraft board or hemp paper, from 250 to 400 GSM, with 50–100% recycled content available.
Recycled polybags
Made from recycled polyethylene, with up to 100% recycled content.
Kraft paper hangers
Moulded under pressure from FSC-certified or 100% recycled fibre. They have up to 68% lower carbon than PET hangers and are recyclable and biodegradable.
Glassine bags
Made from super-calendered plant cellulose. They’re 100% plastic-free and kerbside recyclable.
Jute, juco and cotton bags
Available in 100% jute, a 75:25 jute-cotton blend (juco) or cotton. Jute is rain-fed and needs little or no fertiliser or pesticide.
Every line can be tailored in size, material, print and finish to match your brand’s identity.
Our packaging is made to the same standards as our trims, backed by the same certifications.
Core certifications: bluesign®, Higg Index, SMETA, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, GRS and ZDHC.
Partner certifications: ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001, LEED Gold, GOTS, FSC, ICS, RCS, WRAP and BSCI.
It also runs through the same global network, spanning Vietnam, China, India, Bangladesh, Turkey and Lithuania, close to where garments are made.
